Our History

The William S. Greene Chapter 9 received its charter in 1922. We have been serving veterans and their families for over 100 years. The Chapter was named after William S Greene who was Mayor of the city of Fall River 3 times 1880 to 1881, 1886 and 1895 to 1897. He was elected to congress in 1898, and was reelected 13 times, he then served from 1898 until his death in Fall River, MA in 1924 and was laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery. This organization is dedicated to helping disabled veterans and their families. We have Service Officers ready and able to advise Veterans in receiving the benefits they deserve and represent them in the claims process. We have an Auxiliary, DAVA of spouses, dependents and others who get involved and assist us in our worthy cause.

We have approximately 600 members, all of which are volunteers.
